Widget Cookies Policy
This notice provides information regarding the use of cookies on Hashtag’d widgets used by our clients in their online promotional campaigns.
The Hashtag’d widget inserted on websites of our clients’ promotional campaigns uses cookies. This helps us to provide you with a good user experience when you interact with the widget.Â
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your device, as long as you agree to it. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your device. They do not provide us with any personally identifiable information except for the purposes of our provision of services to our client who is undertaking the promotion.
Our widget uses the following cookies:Â
- __cfduid - this cookie is set by the CloudFlare service to identify trusted web traffic. It does not correspond to any user id in the web application, nor does the cookie store any personally identifiable information. This is marked as "HTTP Only" meaning the browser is instructed to prevent client-side scripts (Javascript, etc) from accessing it. Expires: 1 yearÂ
Our widgets may feature user content hosted on third-party platforms which may set cookies. This could include:
- Embedded Twitter content (https://dev.twitter.com/web/overview/privacy)
- Embedded YouTube videos - though we set 'enhanced privacy' so Google does not track users unless they play the video, as specified here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780Â
- Embedded Facebook and Instagram content (https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/)
We - or our clients - may also may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our widgets:
- Google Analytics (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/)
As well as setting or reading other cookies from third party domains as specified above, Google Analytics may set the following from our domain (hashtagd.net):
- _gaÂ
- _gat
- _gid
- _gali
Note that we allow our clients to enable an option of 'no third party Javascript' in their widgets on a per-campaign basis, in which case these cookies are less likely to be set at the cost of slightly reduced functionality for you, especially with video.
